Most people seek a jewelry store with a specific purpose in mind. A good quality jewelry store is where men go to pick out an engagement ring, where people look for the best watches and jewelry that will come with a guarantee of quality as well as with a higher price tag. However, what many people don't realize is that you can often find fantastic bargains in even high end jewelry stores.
Estate Sale Items
Many jewelers will buy items at estate sales, or even buy estate sale jewelry from individuals who deal with used vintage, costume or genuine used jewelry. These estate sale items can be marvelously unique items, as many of them are vintage jewelry items that simply aren't made today.
In addition, these estate sale items, being previously owned, are often far more affordable than brand new jewelry. You can sometimes find genuine gemstone rings and jewelry pieces that are previously owned for a fraction of the cost of brand new items.
Coupons and Sales
Many jewelers not only have regular sales within the stores, but may also offer online coupons as well as one-time offers. In addition to stopping into the jewelry store regularly to note any sales or new merchandise, be sure to regularly peruse their website to check out any opportunity for sales and coupons. Some jewelry manufacturers may also have additional coupons for their own merchandise aside from coupons within the store itself.
Certain times of the year can bring in great sales, such as:
- Valentine's Day
- Mother's Day
- Father's Day
These holidays are filled with sentimental meaning and so many jewelry stores cater to these holidays with much better sales.
It may come as a surprise that some jewelers will bargain with their customers, much like a car salesman can come down on their prices. This is especially the case for very expensive items or items that have been in stock for a very long time.
If you have your eye on a particular piece, you can ask about any "bottom dollar" prices they may have. In some cases, you may be able to negotiate to lower the overall cost of your purchase.
You may also be able to negotiate some of the extra costs, such as a mounting fee or the ring box, or even get a better and less expensive warranty.
Use these tips and you can get a great bargain at just about any jewelry store.
